Suspension Arms Removal/Inspection

CAUTION:
• Replace the self-locking nuts after removal.
• Be careful not to damage the ball joint boot.
NOTE:
• The ball joint remover will interfere with the lower arm when removing the lower arm. To prevent interference, remove
the beam's pivot bolts before installing the ball joint remover.
• The ball joint remover will interfere with the brake hose bracket when removing the upper arm. To prevent interfer-
ence, remove the brake hose bracket before installing the ball joint remover.
STABILIZER BUSHING
Check for deterioration and damage
STABILIZER LINK
• Check for bending and damage.
• Check the bushing for deterioration
and damage.
TRAILING ARM BRACKET
Check for damage.
STABILIZER BAR
Check for bending and damage.
UPPER ARM
Check for bending and damage..
Check the bushing for
deterioration and damage.
TRAILING ARM
• Check for bending and damage.
• Check the bushing for
deterioration and damage.
LOWER ARM A
• Check for bending and damage.
• Check the bushing for
deterioration and damage.
BOOT
Check for deterioration,
and damage.
CLIP
Replace, or install a
new cotter pin.
NOTE: Install the
clip as shown.
BALL JOINT BOOT
• Check for deterioration and damage.
