Explanation
Print Speed is set above 6 IPS
as the Power-Up configuration
with the validator option
installed. An attempt was made
to set Print Speed above 6 IPS
in the QUICK SETUP menu or
via host software.
Error message reported by the
remote management software
when the NIC is installed. The
network address given in the
printer properties was reached,
but the diagnostics port is busy.
When the "Diagnostics Port"
setting is "Serial," the remote
management software cannot
interact with the NIC, even
though the NIC will respond to
other TCP/IP utilities.

Solution
Change Print Speed in the
QUICK SETUP menu or via
host software to 6 IPS or less
when using the validator option
and save the new value as the
Power-Up configuration in the
CONFIG CTRL menu.
Change the "Diagnostics Port"
setting to "Debug Ethernet":
1. Power on the printer.
2. If the printer is online, press
PAUSE to take the printer
offline.
3. On the control panel, press
the ↓ and
keys at the
same time to unlock the
key.
4. Press +, –, ↓, and ↑ at the
same time to enter the
Factory Menu.
5. Press ↓ until "Diagnostic
Port" displays.
6. Press + until "Debug
Ethernet" displays.
7. Press
to select it.
8. Press ↓ and
at the same
time to lock the
key.
9. Press PAUSE twice to put
the printer back online.
10. Save the changes and set
up a new power-up
configuration, if necessary.
The remote management
software should now be
able to access the printer.
For other communication
errors, print out the E-Net
Test Page (page 163) and
verify the IP Address,
Netmask, Gateway, and
TCP Port settings.
