Explanation
The printhead is close to
overheating. This fault causes
the printer to stop printing and
prevents permanent damage to
the printhead.
1. The pivoting deck is not
closed and latched
completely.
2. Head up sensor cable is
disconnected from the
controller PCBA.
3. The head up sensor is bad.

Solution
1. Allow the printhead to cool
for five minutes, then press
PAUSE. Resume printing.
2. A dirty printhead can inhibit
heat dissipation. Clean the
printhead.
3. Printhead Print Intensity
may be set too high for the
media being used. In the
QUICK SETUP or MEDIA
CONTROL menu, reduce
the Print Intensity value.
See "QUICK SETUP Menu"
on page 87. (Print Intensity
can also be set too high by
software sent from the host
computer.)
4. Cycle power. If the
message reappears, load
the emulation software
again. (See "Downloading
Software" on page 351.)
5. Cycle power. If the
message reappears,
replace the printhead.
1. Close and latch the pivoting
deck.
2. Make sure the head up
sensor cable has a good
connection to J11 on the
controller PCBA.
3. Replace the head up
sensor assembly.
