1) Hoist vehicle and remove wheel.

2) Remove spindle cap (1) as shown (by hammering lightly at 3

locations around it so as not to deform or cause damage to seat-

ing part of cap).

3) Uncalk spindle nut, remove spindle nut (1).

4) Release parking brake lever.

5) Remove brake drum.

If brake drum can not be removed easily, increase clearance be-

tween brake shoes and drum as follows.

a) Remove console box and loosen parking brake cable adjust-

ing nut (1).

b) Pull brake drum (1) off by hand.

If it is hard to remove, use special tools.

6) Remove wheel stud bolts by using hydraulic press (1).
