Install a new gasket [1] on the cam chain tensioner lifter
[2] and install them to the cylinder.
Install and tighten the mounting bolts [3].
Remove the tensioner holder B [4].
Install and tighten the plug [5] with a new sealing
washer [6].
INSPECTION
Check the cam chain tensioner lifter [1] operation:
– The cam chain tensioner lifter shaft should not go
into the lifter body when it is pushed.
– When it is turned clockwise with the tensioner holder
or a screwdriver [2], the shaft should be pulled into
the lifter body. The shaft should spring out of the
lifter body as soon as the tensioner holder is
released.
CAMSHAFT
REMOVAL
Remove the rocker arms (page 10-6).
Turn the crankshaft counterclockwise and align the "T2"
mark [1] on the flywheel with the index mark [2] of the
alternator cover.
Make sure that the punch mark [3] on the cam sprocket
align with the upper surface of the cylinder head as
shown.
Release the cam chain tension (page 10-8).
