Remove the air cleaner housing (page 7-11).
With the ignition coil primary wire connected, connect

Peak voltage adaptor
with commercially available digital multimeter
(impedance 10 MΩ/DCV minimum)
CONNECTION:
No.1 main: Blue/black (+) – Ground (–)
No.1 sub: Blue/white (+) – Ground (–)
No.2 main: Blue/red (+) – Ground (–)
No.2 sub: Blue/yellow (+) – Ground (–)
Turn the ignition switch ON and engine stop switch " ".
Check the initial voltage at this time.
The battery voltage should be measured.
If the initial voltage cannot be measured, follow the
checks described in the troubleshooting table
(page 5-3).
Shift the transmission into neutral.
Crank the engine with the starter motor and measure

CKP SENSOR PEAK VOLTAGE

Check the cylinder compression and check that the
spark plugs are installed correctly in the cylinder head.
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
CRF1000D:
Remove the starter relay (page 7-11).
Connect the wire harness side relay 4P (Black)
connector [1] terminals with a jumper wire [2].
CONNECTION: Green/red – Green
