FRONT MASTER CYLINDER
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Drain the brake fluid from the front brake line hydraulic
system (page 19-6).
Disconnect the brake light switch connectors [1].
Remove the brake hose oil bolt [2], sealing washers [3],

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
• Always replace the sealing washers with new ones.
• Install the brake hose eyelet joint against the master
cylinder stopper.
• Install the master cylinder holder with the "UP" mark
[8] facing up.
• Align the end of the master cylinder with the
handlebar punch mark.
• When tightening the front master cylinder holder
bolts, tighten the upper bolt first, then the lower bolt
to the specified torque.
TORQUE:
Front brake master cylinder holder bolt:
9.8 N·m (1.0 kgf·m, 7 lbf·ft)
Brake hose oil bolt:
34 N·m (3.5 kgf·m, 25 lbf·ft)
Fill the reservoir to the upper level and bleed the front
brake system (page 19-7).
