6.1.3 Construction of the Control System

The machine uses ASIC1 (IC29) on its DC controller PCB to control the laser exposure system. ASIC1 (IC29) uses
the video signals coming from the main controller PCB to form a latent static image on the photosensitive drum
through the following 6 control mechanisms:

1 turns on/off the laser unit
2 controls the laser light in main scanning direction
3 performs APC control
4 performs PWM control
5 controls the laser scanner motor
6 controls the laser shutter
