Continuation for All Vehicles
– Free up the coolant hose -arrow-.
– Push the release button and remove the air guide hose -1-.
– Open the clamp -3- and remove the air guide hose.
– Release the clips -2- and remove the air filter upper section.
– Remove the air filter.
Installing
Note
Always use an original air filter element.

Air filter housing must always be clean.
♦
Use a silicone-free lubricant for installing the air guide hoses.
♦
Secure all hose connections with standard production hose
♦
clamps. Refer to the ⇒ Maintenance Intervals; Rep. Gr. 03 .
Note the following when cleaning the air filter housing with
♦
pressurized air: To prevent malfunctions, cover the critical air
flow components, such as the mass air flow sensor, air guide
pipes, etc., with a clean cloth.
Observe disposal regulations!

– Remove any salt residue, dirt or leaves from the air filter hous‐
ing upper and lower sections.
– Clean out the water drain -arrow- in the bottom of the air filter
housing with compressed air.
– Check air duct from lock carrier to air filter housing for dirt and
leaves.
– When installing, center the air filter element into the mount in
the air filter housing lower section.
– Carefully position the air filter upper section onto the air filter
lower section without using force.
– Make sure that the air guide hoses are attached securely to
the air filter upper section.
Install in reverse order of removal.
