Faxing Problems—Sending
Cannot send after dialling?

Is your unit set to the correct type (pulse or tone) of telephone line?
Check the type of telephone line and set the unit to the correct type.

Is your unit in copy mode?
Press the FAX button to light the FAX lamp.

Is the document set properly?
Reset the document and try sending again. (1 p. 4-4)

Did you dial the right telephone number?
Try dialling the number again. If the number is registered for
one-touch or coded speed dialling, check that the number is correct.

Is the other fax unit out of paper?
Contact the other party to check whether their fax unit is out of
paper.
•
Is the other party's line busy with sending, receiving, or a voice
call?
Contact your carrier to check whether the line is busy or not.
Does memory fill up immediately when you try to send?

Are you sending at SUPER FINE or ULTRA FINE resolution? Is the
image quality set to HALFTONE or TEXT/PHOTO?
If your document does not contain fine text or photographs, set the
resolution to STANDARD and image quality to TEXT. (1 p. 4-18)
If your document contains fine text or photographs, send it directly
rather than as a memory transmission. (1 p. 4-29)
