Direct Sending

Direct sending is another sending method with different advantages.
Since the document is not scanned into memory before sending, it can be
sent ahead of any documents stored in memory. It also allows you to
send documents even when the unit's memory is full.
With direct sending, the unit dials the number, connects the call, and then
scans and sends the document one page at a time. Direct sending is
slower than memory sending, but when you need to send an urgent
document ahead of other documents this method is useful.
Follow the procedure below to send using direct sending.

You cannot use the platen glass to send using this method. Be sure to
place your document in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) as
described below.

Press FAX to switch to fax mode.

Prepare the document and load it, face down, in the Automatic
Document Feeder (ADF). (1 p. 4-4)

Be sure to load the document horizontally (x) (A4 size),
otherwise the unit will automatically reduce your document
when sending.
