Setting the document in the wrong direction (vertical or horizontal)
can cause part of a document to be omitted from the transmission.
Determine the direction in which to place the original by the
markings on the near edge of the platen glass.
Marks or dust on the platen glass affect the quality of the document.
Ensure that the platen glass is always kept clean. (1 Chapter 6 of the
Copier User's Guide)

Your document can be placed either vertically or horizontally.
However, you must set the document as shown below when
scanning a document for sending.

If set vertically (z), the unit will reduce the document.
