Gently lower the platen cover.

When lowering the platen cover, be careful not to get your hands
caught between the cover and glass. Lower the platen cover
carefully.
If you set a thick document, such as a book, do not push down
forcefully on the book or on the platen cover when it is lowered.
Doing so may cause damage to the platen glass.
Your document must not be more than 2 kg.
