How to Use Your Guides

To make the best use of your guides, and to learn how to set up, operate,
and use the various features of your unit, be sure to do the following:
Read this chapter to learn about the main fax and telephone features
of your unit, the options available and who to contact if you have
questions. You will find details on the main copy features of your
unit in Chapter 1 of the Copier User's Guide.
Carefully follow the instructions in Chapter 2, "Setting Up Your
Unit," of the Copier User's Guide, to unpack your unit and assemble
it properly.
Read Chapter 2 of this guide, "Getting Started," to learn about the
functions of the buttons on the operation panel, and how to enter
information in your unit and register your sender information.
Read Chapter 3 of this guide, "Speed Dialling," to learn how to
register numbers for speed dialling, how to change them, and how to
use speed dialling to send documents.
Read Chapters 4 through 10 of this guide to master the unit's
operating procedures (such as sending documents, receiving
documents, and memory functions), and to learn more about its
special features (such as relay broadcasting, confidential transaction,
polling, and special dialling methods).
Refer to Chapters 4 and 5 of the Copier User's Guide to learn how to
use your unit as a copier and make the most of the different copy
features.
Refer to Chapter 11 of this guide, "Restricting Use of the Unit," to
learn how to restrict the sending, printing, copying, and telephone
functions of your unit.
Refer to Chapter 12 of this guide, "Report and Lists," to learn about
the reports and lists that can be automatically or manually printed
from your unit.
Look over Chapter 6, "Maintenance," of the Copier User's Guide to
become familiar with procedures for cleaning and transporting your
unit, and replacing the toner cartridge.
