Sending a Document with a Subaddress/
Password
You can send documents with ITU-T standard subaddresses and
passwords. In order for a transaction to succeed, the subaddresses and
passwords on the sending and receiving fax units must match. You can
use two methods to send a document with an ITU-T subaddress and
password:
Press a one-touch speed dialling button or enter a coded speed
dialling code registered for subaddress/password sending. If you
often send to the same fax number with a subaddress/password, it is
convenient to register the button or code in this way to avoid having
to enter the subaddress/password every time you send a document
to that destination.
Enter the subaddress and password with the Subaddress and
Password buttons on the operation panel when you send the
document.
With this unit, subaddresses are used to identify different types of
memory boxes (confidential mailbox, relay box, polling box, mailbox,
etc.). To use sending functions such as confidential, relay, and polling,
press the appropriate button for each function.
Use subaddress/password sending when performing transmissions such
as the following.
When sending from a mailbox, use subaddress/password sending.
The way in which the document is handled depends on the settings
you have specified for that mailbox.
Use subaddress/password sending when sending a document to a
non-Olivetti fax machine with features similar to the mailbox features
of your unit. The way in which the document is handled depends on
the settings you have specified. For example, if you specified a
subaddress/password for a confidential box, a document will be
stored as a confidential document in memory.
n
Before polling a fax unit to receive a document stored in that fax unit's
memory (a polling box, for example), check the subaddress and
password with the other party before performing polling reception.
