Memory Lock – Receiving Documents
in Memory
Normally a document prints as soon as you receive it. However, there
may be occasions when you want the unit to store all documents in
memory until you are ready to print them. Locking the unit to receive
and store all documents in memory is called memory lock.
You may want to turn memory lock on when the unit is left unattended
at night or over long holidays, to prevent a large volume of printed
documents from collecting on the output tray. After you return to the
office, you can review the contents of the memory and then enter the
memory lock password to print all the documents stored in the memory.

Setting Up the Unit to Receive in Memory

Before you can use memory lock, you need to set up the mode. The
following procedure shows you how to do the following:
Enable/disable memory lock mode
Set a password to turn memory lock on or off (optional)
Set the unit to print a report when it receives documents in memory
Specify the times the unit enters and leaves memory lock mode
Once you have set these options, the unit will automatically enter
memory lock mode at the times you have specified, or you can manually
turn it on with the Memory Reception button. (1 p. 6-10)

The memory reception feature differs from the memory substitution
feature, which automatically receives documents in memory when the
paper or toner cartridge runs out. Memory substitution functions
automatically without any settings being necessary. (1 p. 5-16)
