Adjusting the Image Quality Setting

This unit has three settings so you can adjust the settings for the type of
document you are sending.
1.
Press F3 (IMAGEQUALITY) until the image quality setting you

want is displayed.

If you have set the scanning resolution to SUPER FINE or ULTRA FINE,
this setting will automatically revert to FINE mode if you select
HALFTONE for the image quality setting. You can however go back and
reset SUPER FINE or ULTRA FINE for the RESOLUTION setting.

IMAGEQUALITY
TEXT is the default setting and is used for standard printed or
typewritten text.
TEXT/PHOTO is for documents that contain text and
photographs on the same page. The unit automatically adjusts
the quality of the image and text on the same page. You can
also select this setting when scanning a page from a magazine
or newspaper.
HALFTONE is for documents that mainly contain
photographs. With this setting, areas of the document that
contain photos are automatically scanned with 64 levels of
gray, rather than just two (black and white). This gives a much
better reproduction of the photos, though transmission time is
longer.
If you do not press Set within three seconds of selecting the
image quality setting, your selection will automatically be set
without you having to press Set.
