There is an LCT upper limit sensor [A] above the paper feed upper guide
plate to control the LCT lift motor[B]. The actuator [C] for the sensor is
located on the pick-up roller bracket [D]. Normally the pick-up solenoid [E] is
off and the pick-up roller bracket stays in the up position. At this time the LCT
upper limit sensor is activated.
When the LCT top cover is closed, the LCT cover switches turn on and the
pick-up solenoid is energized. The pick-up roller bracket lowers and the LCT
upper limit sensor is deactivated. Then the LCT lift motor starts turning and
the rotation is transmitted to the LCT drive belt [F] via worm gear [G],
diagonal gears[H], and belt drive pulleys [I]. The LCT bottom plate, which is
fixed on the LCT drive belts by belt clamps, is lifted up.
