11.6 BY-PASS FEED TABLE

The by-pass feed table [A] uses the FRR feed system for feeding non-
standard sized paper, thick paper, and application paper such as OHP sheet,
translucent paper, etc.
When the by-pass feed table is opened, the by-pass feed table sensor [B] is
activated by the by-pass feed side plate [C]. Then the CPU lights the by-pass
feed indicator on the operation panel.
On this model, opening the by-pass feed table does not shift the mode into
the interrupt mode. The selected modes and input data from before opening
the by-pass feed table remain. Also other paper trays can be selected while
the by-pass feed table is open.
While the by-pass feed table is being opened, the front side of the by-pass
feed lower guide plate [D] lifts up the paper end feeler [E] to the detect
position. When there is no paper on the by-pass feed table, the paper end
feeler is positioned in the cut out of the lower guide plate and the by-pass
feed paper end sensor [F] is deactivated. When the paper is set on the
by-pass feed table, the paper end feeler is raised by the paper and the paper
end sensor becomes activated. The CPU turns off the paper end indicator,
turns the start key from red to green, and sounds the beeper once.
11.6.1 Pick-up Roller Position for Non-LCT Machine
The pick-up roller position of the non-LCT machine is higher than that of the
LCT machine when the by-pass feed table is closed. The position is designed
only for the by-pass feed table. Therefore, there is no pick-up roller lift
mechanism while opening the by-pass feed table.
