The pick-off pawls [A] are always in contact with the drum. They have a side
to side movement mechanism to prevent the parts of the drum surface
touched by the pick-off pawls from wearing faster than other parts.
The cleaning brush drive gear [B] drives the pick-off pawl drive shaft [C]
which has a worm gear [D] on the other end. The worm gear drives the cam
gear [E] which provides the side to side movement to the pick-off pawl
assembly.
