Enabling the Radius options within the Nautica allows it to
operate as a Network Access Server (NAS) in a secure network.
A NAS receives incoming call requests and then relays them to a
RADIUS Server for authentication. Once authenticated the
connection is made and data transfer can take place.
Your Nautica router can operate with most standards based
servers but to enable the extra Nautica specific features (dynamic
configuration download, outgoing calls etc.) it must be used in
conjunction with the Nautica RADIUS Server.
Note:
For totally secure operation when used with a Nautica
RADIUS Server, permanent paths, routes and filters should not
be configured. These parameters will be downloaded from the
server once the authentication stage has completed.
Table
15-1, over, lists all the attributes that can be amended for a
RADIUS server. For more information on an attribute, click on its
name in the table.
