NauticaRS 5.016R Release Notes for Nautica 200 These are the DNS server(s) to use for this path. The dns-use-if-up parameter provides a way to have the router use a path that is up, rather than bring up a new path. Effectively it overrides the default rules (see below).
There is a new BCC command Domain match rules and the DNS cache entries. There is also a BCC command from the rules table. PPP Callback Both RFC1570 LCP CallBack and PPP Callback Control Protocol (CBCP) have been implemented. New path parameters: callback-type [lcp | pre-specified | caller-specified | either ] callback-direction [none | incoming | outgoing] callback-delay <delay>...

1/$5551234 <--- number to call user back on This example is for a Nautica 200 calling into a central site that will call the N200 user back. In this example the callback number is pre-configured in the central router, or security server at the central site: callback-type pre-spec <--- router uses CBCP callback...
A similar example, but this time the Nautica 200 is asking to be called back on a particular number (note: the central site router has to be set up to allow this): callback-type caller-spec <--- router uses CBCP callback -...
BRI has been added for ISDN Type 4 Services. New values for the mode parameter within the BRI have been added. On a Nautica 200 the choice is now bri, leased64k-ppp, leased128k-ppp. The leased-64k-ppp setting provides the combination of one leased and one switched B channel.
Note: not connected. If the auto-sensing process is successful, the switch type, SPID and local numbers are auto-learned and the Nautica 200 must be rebooted. If the autosensing fails, the SPIDS and switch type must be entered manually and the Nautica 200 must be rebooted.
NauticaRS 5.016R Release Notes for Nautica 200 The Trace window and syslog debug messages and debug levels have been rationalized. Several new debug parameters have been introduced to assist with specific debugging. For example, LCP options can be examined by increasing the “lcpdb” parameter without having to increase “pppdb”...
PPP Profiles To allow per-user configuration, some PPP parameters have been moved from the PPP profile to the path, keeping the same parameter names: challenge-timeout encap-enable bacp-enable IP Parameters Some parameters have moved from the SYSTEM context to the IP context: state enabled routing enabled en-filter no-filtering...
Ring Frequency Parameter A new parameter “rfreq” has been added to enable the user to change the ring frequency on the POTS ports for Nautica 200 and CLAM-Voice. The value is in Hertz (Hz), and defaults to 25Hz. Telephones with older mechanical bells typically require a lower frequency, such as 11 or 8 Hz.
For a full listing of BCC commands, refer to the NauticaRS 5.0R Reference Guide on the Nautica 200 installation CD. Blacklisting Since the default blacklist timeout is now 20 seconds, users in countries where the PTT charges for all ISDN call attempts (such as in Austria or Switzerland) must set the blacklist timeout to 0 to avoid the possibility of running up a large ISDN bill.
NauticaRS 5.016R Release Notes for Nautica 200 NetBIOS Options In a Microsoft network environment, if a remote user logs onto a Windows NT domain server, the user's PC will periodically send NetBIOS Name Server messages to the Primary Domain Controller. This traffic will result in the ISDN line becoming active and may cause excessive usage.
NauticaRS CD-ROM which ships with CLAM, Marlin and Nautica 4000 products. It is also downloadable from the World Wide Web at: http://support.baynetworks.com/software/router/nauticars.html CLI Presentation/Restriction (CLIP/CLIR) In NauticaRS 5.016R there is a CLIP/CLIR Mode (clipmode from BCC) parameter on each ISDN or Voice port device which is used to select how the MSN is presented to the destination (as the CLI).
If you are running Nautica Wizard from the Bay Networks Nautica CD, you must close the application before removing the CD-ROM from your drive. In Australia, the Nautica 200 is only approved on ETSI ISDN lines; it is not approved on (and does not work on) older TS013 lines.

NauticaRS 5.016R Release Notes for Nautica 200 It has been reported that various issues with downloading new code from Nautica Wizard under early versions of Windows 95 can be overcome by upgrading to the latest version of WINSOCK. Consult your Microsoft reseller for upgrade details.
• If a retry is required for a 'bandwidth' ISDN call (additional data channel), the router code now correctly marks this as a demand call. Previosuly, retried calls were always marked as automatic calls, which could prevent the correct operation of incoming and outgoig call bumping.
NauticaRS 5.016R Release Notes for Nautica 200 Fixes since 4.128R - Router code: • ISDN bandwidth calculations have been modified to correctly handle large demand and idle periods. • If the demand-period is set to zero and idle-period is non-zero, the idle-period will be used for bringing down all calls.

• TCP Packets with bad checksums are now passed through NAT, and are sent to their destination with the checksum incorrect. This improves performance since the receiving host is able to request retransmission immediately. Previously, packets with bad TCP checksums were deliberately dropped.
