INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT:
Start the inspection from step 1, in case of using the hand–held tester and start from step 2, in case of not
using the hand–held tester.
1 Check the stop light FUSE and stop light bulb.
OK
2 Check output value of the master cylinder pressure sensor.
PREPARATION:
(a) Connect the hand–held tester to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch ON and push the hand–held tester main switch ON.
(c) Select the DATALIST mode on the hand–held tester.
CHECK:
Check that the brake fluid pressure value of the master cylinder pressure sensor displayed on the hand–held
tester is changing when depressing the brake pedal.
OK:
Brake fluid pressure value must be changing.
NG
3 Check for open and short circuit in harness and connector between master cyl-
inder pressure sensor and ABS & BA & TRC & VSC ECU (See page IN–30).

NG Check the stop light switch circuit (See Pub. No.
RM599E on page BE–45)
OK Go to step 4.
NG Repair or replace harness or connector.
