Connect a USB Device to the Library
Unless specifically instructed to do so, do not connect a USB device to the USB port

on the RCM.
Use the following steps to connect a USB device to the library.
1. Locate the USB port you want to use.
2. Plug the USB device into the USB port and allow time for the device to

When connecting the USB device to the LCM, make sure that

you do not inadvertently connect it to the RCM. See Figure 16
on page 52 to identify the LCM.
The library only recognizes FAT‐formatted, not NTFS‐
formatted, USB devices.
Not all USB devices are compatible with the library. If you
are unable to access a USB device from the library, remove it
and use a different one. If the LCM stops responding after
you insert an incompatible USB device, reboot the LCM as
described in Reset the LCM or RCM on page 378.
Plug the USB device into the LCM or operator panel and
allow time for the device to mount before beginning a
procedure that reads or writes data. For many utilities, the
option to read from or write data to a USB device is not
available if a USB device was not connected before you select
the utility.
