Chapter 4 — Configuring the Library
Configure Network Settings
Overview Spectra Logic highly recommends that you configure your
library for network access. Without network access, you are unable to
perform any of the following operations:
Access the BlueScale web interface for remote management of the

Using DHCP Addressing By default, the IP address for the Ethernet port on
the LCM is set automatically using the Dynamic Host Configuration
Protocol (DHCP).
Using Static IP Addressing If your network does not use DHCP, or if you
simply want the library to have a fixed IP address, you can configure a
static (fixed) IP address as described in this section. Using a static IP
address ensures that you always know the IP address for the library and is
highly recommended.
Configuration Process Use the following steps to configure the library for
network access.
