User Privilege Requirements All users can view system messages, view
performance metrics, and use the BlueScale Vision camera. The user
privileges required to use the other monitoring tools depend on the tool.
Check and Respond to Messages
Check the library's system messages regularly. These messages provide
important information about the library, its operation, and any library
problems. Reviewing the messages is the first step in troubleshooting.

about the library and its operation.
The performance of your library and its
drives.
The status, firmware level, and cleaning
status of the drives. The Drive Details
for each Fibre Channel drive shows the
World Wide Name (WWN) for the
drive.
The interior of the library using the
BlueScale Vision cameras.
The usage and health of MLM‐enabled
media in the library.
Note:
MLM also provides limited
health information about media that is
not MLM‐enabled.
The usage and health of the drives in
the library.
The health of key library components.
Note:
When you configure mail users, you can specify which types of
system messages the library automatically emails to each mail
user. See Configure Mail Users on page 120 for detailed
