Model File
The actual tester resources installed in the test system have the full
capabilities of the respective resources. The model file is required to
use the tester resources and features for your device tests. It is a very
important file that sets the necessary configuration and features of the
tester resources for your addressed tests. At times, you will need to
define the resource requirements in the model file.
When the SmarTest is started, the SmarTest will do as follows:
In the offline mode
1 Reads the model file.
2 Checks if there is no syntax error or feature dependency error in
the model file.
3 Sets the configuration of the test system from the model file
contents. The model file is used to simulate the tester configuration.
In the online mode,
1 Reads the model file.
2 Checks if there is no syntax error or feature dependency error in
the model file.
3 Checks if there is no hardware conflict (e.g. hardware is not
installed, or hardware is not compatible) by comparing the actual
installed resources in the test system.
4 For the tester resources and features that are managed by the
licenses, generates the license requests for the resources and
features from the model file to the license server, then checks out
the requested licenses from the server.
5 Sets the configuration of the test system from the model file
contents and given licenses.
