Device Characterization - DC Tests
High Precision PMU

14-2 Per Pin PMU and High Precision
PMU
The dc subsystem of the SOC Series is composed of two different types
of PMUs:
Per Pin PMU
• Per Pin PMU (PPMU)
Every digital pin is equipped with a Pin PMU to achieve highest
throughput in dc measurements (production).
In addition to the pin PMU there is one Board ADC per 16 pins for
a multiplexed value measurements. The Board ADC converts the
analog outputs of the pin PMUs to digital values.
• High Precision PMU (HPPMU)
A HPPMU is provided per 128 digital channels and can be connected
to any of these channels. The HPPMU provides highest accuracy dc
measurements (engineering).
Availability and Relay Matrix of PMUs
Availability of PMUs is as follows:
• Per Pin PMU
Provided once per digital channel. Can be used in all dc test func-
tions that use the PMU to perform measurements. Also fully acces-
sible via firmware commands.
• High Precision PMU
Provided once per 128 digital channels. Can be used in a subset of
dc test functions that use the PMU to perform their measurements.
Fully accessible via firmware commands.
The relay matrix (after Standard Connect) is shown in the
Matrix after Standard Connect Sequence" on page
The Pin PMU is connected to a DUT pin by closing the corresponding
PPMU relay.
The High Precision PMU is connected to a specific DUT pin by closing
the HPPMU, ISOL and DC relay leading to that DUT pin.
