Writing Reports
The Histogram Tool has a built in report writing feature which records
the histogram data shown on the display, and the associated statistical
data. The report writing utility generates an ASCII report of the
displayed and calculated data and directs it to a user defined file.
To produce a report proceed as follows:
1 Enter a title for the report in the Title field and your comments in
the Comment field. Both these fields are found near the top of the
screen.
2 Click on the
Options
window will appear.
3 Select Report. A "Report File Name:" window appears. Enter the
required filename with its path in the bottom field, or select an
existing filename to be overwritten from the browser.
4 Press OK.
Histogram ASCII Report File
The report shown below is an examples of the expected output for a
histogram from an EDF file. The report contains settings and data
exactly as they appear in the Histogram Tool main window. The report
is automatically date and time tagged.
