13-3 Analyzing Waveforms (Timing
Diagram)
The second tool is the Timing Diagram. The Timing Diagram interprets
the contents of the Detailed Error Memory.
It also allows you to view the actual waveforms that you are sending to
the device, and the response from the DUT's outputs.
The Timing Diagram window has three modes of operation:
• Timing Diagram
• HighRes Timing Diagram
• Softscope
Using the Timing Diagram
You launch the Timing Diagram as follows.
1 Click on the Results tab of the main menu.
2 Double-click on the
Timing Diagram
icon.
You see the Timing Diagram
(Figure
237).
Figure 237
Timing Diagram
This mode shows the reconstructed timing based on the level and
timing settings in the test. It is the fastest mode, but does not show level
noise or multiple transitions (metastable states).
Cycles where a pin fails are highlighted.
