16-8 Shmoo Execution

Fast Shmoo Plot

This reduction in test time is achieved by not testing every possible

parameter pair in the defined test region.

Instead a coarse (low resolution) plot is first made to determine the

approximate position of the transition and then the tool performs a

high resolution search only within a certain distance of the estimated

pass/fail and fail/pass transition points.

This high resolution search area is determined by the application of a

special algorithm to the pass/fail results that are obtained from the

initial coarse search.
