8-4 Level Setup Steps
Defining the Levels
1. Creating Equation Based Test Sets
Level sets are required for the ability to use the CLEV sequencer
command to change voltage parameters during a functional test. This
simply means that you could have one level set per equation set and as
many equation sets as you need.
As you can see in
Figure 89
an equation set is made up of specification
variables (spec variables) and equation variables. One Spec Set is asso-
ciated with one Equation Set and one Wavetable. A Spec Set links the
equation set and wavetable. More than one Spec Set may point to the
same wavetable.

Open the Level Equation Editor
in the Level
Setup Editor) and define equation sets. The default editor is vi.
You can define up to 99 equation sets.
Defining fixed levels
Let's start with a very simple example where you define fixed levels,
that is you actually do not need equations and specs. For fixed levels
you would, for example for the 74ACT299, enter the following lines in
the Level Equation Editor:
