Table 4-5 Status Byte Register

If all pending operations is completed following execution of the *OPC command, this bit is set to 1.

This bit is always set to 0.

If a query error has occurred, this bit is set to 1.

If a device dependent error has occurred, this bit is set to 1. Device dependent errors have error numbers from
-399 to -300 and 1 to 32767.

If an execution error has occurred, this bit is set to 1.
Execution errors have error numbers from -299 to -200.

If a command error has occurred, this bit is set to 1.
Command errors have error numbers from -199 to -100.

This bit is always set to 0.

If the instrument has been turned off and then on, this bit is set to 1.

The Standard Event Status Register of the Tester is used to
determine the specific event that set bit 5 in the status byte
register as follows:

The Standard Event Status Register contains the following
information:
To query the Standard Event Status Register, send the
command *ESR?. The response is the decimal sum of the bits
which are set to
. For example, if the bit 7 and bit 3 are set to

the decimal sum of these 2 bits is 136 (128 plus 8) see
Figure
4-5. So the decimal value 136 is returned.
