Remove an NVMe Drive

After you unmount the NVMe drive, the steps to physically remove the dirve are the same
as the steps to remove a SAS storage dirve. For detailed instructions, see
Drive" on page
1. Unmount the drive depending on the OS.

2. Follow safety and ESD precautions.

Identify the physical location of the NVMe drive that you want to remove.

4. Tilt and pivot the air filter away from the server.

5. Verify that the OK to Remove LED on the NVMe drive is lit.
Push the latch release button to open the drive latch.

7. Grasp the latch, and pull the drive out of the drive slot.

If you are replacing the drive, verify the removal.
