Verify a SAS Drive
After you install a SAS drive, you can verify its functionality.
Access Oracle ILOM.
1.
See
"Log In to Oracle ILOM (Service)" on page
Check for the presence of the drive.
2.
-> show /SYS/DBP/HDDx/PRSNT
/SYS/DBP/HDD0/PRSNT
Targets:
Properties:
type = Entity Presence
ipmi_name = HDD0/PRSNT
class = Discrete Sensor
value = Present
alarm_status = cleared
->
where x is 0 to 7.
3.
If you replaced a drive, verify that the drive location is no longer considered
faulty, then return to this procedure.
See
"Locate a Faulty Drive" on page
4.
If the OS was shut down, and the drive you installed was not the boot device,
boot the OS.
Depending on the function of the replaced drive, you might need to perform administrative
tasks to reinstall software before the server can boot. Refer to the OS documentation for more
information.
