To accommodate the increase in the process speed, the machine uses a combination of an optical sensor [1] and a prism [2] instead of a photo sensor and
a sensor flag for some of the sensors in the pickup/feeding assembly, thus ensuring correct detection of paper. (For the position of the sensors, see F02-
604-01.)
