6.2.2 DS300 dual controller switched dual path attachment

A server in this configuration has two interfaces (two hardware initiators or one
software initiator using two network interfaces). Each of the interfaces is
connected to a different subnet. Depending on the type of the initiator, it is
possible to use multipathing via operating system specific multipathing
mechanisms or multiple connections per session (MCS). Only with the software
initiators is multipathing possible. Even when multipathing is possible, it is not
always supported. Check support pages and firmware readme files about current
support status. With hardware initiators like IBM iSCSI Server Adapter or the
Qlogic iSCSI Expansion Card for IBM IBM ^ BladeCenter, multipathing is
not possible because at the time this redbook was written, no multipathing driver
was available.
