1. Ignition ON.
2. At the CKP harness connector, connect a test lamp
between the ignition and ground terminals.
Did the lamp illuminate?

Check the CKP High circuit between the sensor and the
PCM for a short to ground or open circuit.
Was a problem found?

Replace the CKP position sensor.
Is there still a problem?

Check the CKP Low circuit between the sensor and the
PCM for: an open circuit, a short to ground, or short to
voltage.
Was the problem found?

Replace the PCM.
IMPORTANT: The
programmed. Refer to On–Vehicle Service in
Powertrain
Control
procedures.
and also refer to latest service bulletin.
Check to see if the Latest software is released or not.
And then Down Load the LATEST PROGRAMMED
SOFTWARE to the replacement PCM.

1. Test the fuel for contamination.
2. If a problem is found, clean the fuel system and
correct the contaminated fuel condition as
necessary. Replace the fuel filter and replace any
injectors that are not delivering fuel (see Injector
Balance Test).

To diagnose the following conditions, refer to Engine
Mechanical:
f
Slipped camshaft drive belt.
f
Leaking or sticky valves or rings.
f
Excessive valve deposits.
f
Loose or worn rocker arms.
f
Weak valve springs
f
Leaking head gasket.
