Execute the diagPost command to make sure that Power-On Self-Test (POST) is enabled; then
power cycle the blade using the slotPowerOff and slotPowerOn commands or have the blade's
ejector switch cycled to run POST and verify that the blade does not have any hardware problems.
On the Brocade 24000 and 48000, replace the specified FRU.
For the Brocade 3900, replace the motherboard FRU.
For the Brocade 200E, 300, 3016, 3250, 3850, 4012, 4016, 4018, 4020, 4024, 4100, 4900,
5000, 6510, 7500, and AP7600, replace the switch.

Message
<timestamp>, [EM-1004], <sequence-number>, FFDC, CRITICAL, <system-name>, <FRU
ID> failed to power on.
Probable Cause
Indicates that the specified field-replaceable unit (FRU) failed to power on and is not being used.
The FRU ID value is composed of a FRU type string and an optional number to identify the unit, slot,
or port.
The Brocade 3250 has one power supply and three fans, and the Brocade 3850 has two power
supplies and four fans. Values for the individual fans and power supplies for these switches may
display, but these parts cannot be replaced: the entire switch is a FRU.
The Brocade 3016 does not have any fans, power supplies, or World Wide Name (WWN) cards.
The Brocade 200E, 300, 4012, 4016, 4018, 4020, and 4024 have four fans and one power
supply, but these parts cannot be replaced: the entire switch is a FRU.
Recommended
Reseat the FRU. If the problem persists, replace the FRU.

Message
<timestamp>, [EM-1005], <sequence-number>, FFDC, CRITICAL, <system-name>, <FRU
Id> has faulted. Sensors above maximum limits.
Probable Cause
Indicates that a blade in the specified slot or the switch (for nonbladed switches) is shut down for
environmental reasons; its temperature or voltage is out of range.
Recommended
Check the environment and make sure the room temperature is within the operational range of the
Action
switch. Execute the fanShow command to verify fans are operating properly. Make sure there are
no blockages of the airflow around the chassis. If the temperature problem is isolated to the blade
itself, replace the blade.
Voltage problems on a blade are likely a hardware problem on the blade itself; replace the blade.
