Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is an Internet protocol that enables routers on a
network to share routing information with each other and advertise information
about the segments of the IP address space they can access within their network
with routers on external networks. BGP allows you to decide what is the "best"
route for a packet to take from your network to a destination on another network,
rather than simply setting a default route from your border router(s) to your
upstream provider(s). You can configure BGP either within an autonomous system
or between different autonomous systems. When run within an autonomous
system, itʹs called internal BGP (iBGP). When run between different autonomous
systems, itʹs called external BGP (eBGP). BGP is defined in RFC 1771.
BGP commands enable you to configure the switch to receive routes and to
advertise static routes, fixed routes and virtual server IP addresses with other
internal and external routers.
BGP is turned off by default.
Note: Fixed routes are subnet routes. There is one fixed route per IP interface.

Configures aggregation IP address. To view command options, see page

Set Autonomous System number.
Command mode: Router BGP
[no] asn4comp
Enables or disables ASN4 to ASN2 compatibility.
Command mode: Router BGP
[no] bestpath as­path multipath­relax
Changes the default best path selection configuration by allowing load sharing
across different AS‐paths of equal length.
Command mode: Router BGP
[no] client­to­client reflection
Enables or disables client‐to‐client IBGP route reflection when operating as a
route reflector.
The default state is enabled.
