Craft Port

The SCM provides an RS-232 serial asynchronous craft access port. Physical access is attained
by way of a female DB-9 connector on the SCM front panel. The craft port can operate from
9600 to 115200 baud (the default rate is 9600 baud.) The format is 8-bit asynchronous data
with no parity and one stop bit (8, N, 1). Minimal 3-wire functionality (pins 2, 3, and 5) is also
accommodated. The craft port operates as a DCE (Data Communication Equipment).
Table 12
lists the detailed pin assignments for the SCM craft port.

NOTE
The Craft and Admin ports both default to 9600 baud, but have
available rates of 19200, 38400, 57600, and 115200. If set to an
unsupported value, restore the baud rate by the following method:
1. Remove the SCM from the OPTI-6100 chassis.
2. Reinstall the SCM, holding the ACO pushbutton for 10 seconds.
3. Log in to the system.
4. Select
