FDF Considerations

Provisions for connecting the chassis to the Fiber Distribution Frame (FDF) or other fiber patch
panel must be made. One IN/OUT position on the FDF should be reserved for each module
supporting a fiber interface. Redundant modules require two IN/OUT positions.

Vertical Fiber Routing in the Bay

The OPTI-6100 chassis allow for fiber routing using the front tray attached to the chassis.
Provisions should be made to route the fiber safely up the vertical run in the bay itself and to
allow the fiber to enter the overhead fiber routing trays. Vertical fiber routing should be
designed to maintain the minimum bend radius of the fiber and to conform to the fiber routing
scheme already in use in the CO.
