"Ping Utility"

Ping Utility
Use the Ping Utility to test whether a specified host is reachable through the IP network. The
ping transmission is an Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) "echo request". If the ping
packet is received at the destination then the host replies with an "echo response". Upon
receiving an "echo response" the Ping Utility calculates the round-trip-time (RTT) and displays
this to the terminal, along with the current time-to-live (TTL) value and payload size.

Function
When enabled, VLAN Support adds a four-byte header to the
pseudowire packet, as defined in IEEE 802.1q. The first two
bytes are the tag protocol identifier (TID), and are set to 0x8100.
The last two bytes are the tag control information (TCI).
VLAN Support is disabled by default.
The VLAN ID and VLAN Priority control the TCI.
This specifies the VLAN Identifier (VID), when VLAN Support is
enabled. The valid range is 1–4094, with a default of 1.
This specifies the source IPv4 Address for the pseudowire inter-
face and Ping utility.
This specifies the Network and Host parts of the IP Address.
This specifies the node (router) to which packets destined to
addresses outside the subnet are sent.
