Pseudowire

The Pseudowire 1–14 and Pseudowire 15–28 options both lead to menus for selecting individual
pseudowires. Except for the pseudowire number in the heading, each menu is identical.
Table C-14

UDP Ports

The ranges and restrictions in this section applies to both Source and Destination UDP ports.
Valid Range of Values: Acceptible values for UDP port assignments are 1–65535, with the
exception of any ports already assigned to other functions. For example, port 123 is
reserved for the System Network Timing Protocol (SNTP) server.
There are no defaults for these values. Each pseudowire must be provisioned with a Source
and Destination UDP port in order to function.
NOTICE
Port values in the ranges of "Well Known Ports" (1–1023) or "Regis-
tered Ports" (1024–49151) are not recommended. Assign port values
in the "Dynamic and/or Private Ports" range (49152–65535).

Table C-14. Pseudowire Options
Function
This option specifies the destination IP address of the pseudowire
packet. If the address is outside the subnet (as defined by the Ethernet
provisioning), the pseudowire is sent to the default gateway.
This option specifies the Differentiated Services Code Point (DSCP)
value of the pseudowire packet. The default DSCP value is 0 (Per-hop
Behavior). If the network uses DHCP, the recommended value is 46.
This option specifies the source User Datagram Protocol (UDP) port for
incoming pseudowire packets. Refer to
This option specifies the destination UDP port for pseudowire packets.
Refer to
"UDP Ports"
on page C-15.
This option enables/disables the Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) for
the destination MAC address. Addresses are resolved based upon the
provisioned destination IP address. The default is Enable.
This option enables/disables the pseudowire. The default is Enable.
If ARP (above) is disabled, this field displays the destination MAC
address of the pseudowire packet.
If ARP is enabled, the resolved MAC address is displayed.
This option applies the provisioning to the pseudowire. If required pro-
visioning is not complete, this option is not selectable.
Exiting this menu without selecting Apply discards all provisioning.
This option removes all provisioning from the pseudowire. Unassign is
not available unless provisioning changes have been made and applied.
