1. When mapping an STS-1, this is equivalent of mapping 28 VT1.5s, in order; however, protection switching is
done at a STS level, not at a VT level.
2. VT1.5 cross-connects are only supported in the DROP direction (HS§MS 1way mapping). STS-1 and STS-3c
cross-connects are only supported in the ADD direction (MS§HS).
3. When in EC1 mode, the STS can carry any payload.
