3. Disconnect power, and remove the fuses from A and B power supplies (if present).
4. Run power connections to the fan assembly for A and B power feeds, and terminate them
on the power lugs located on the terminal block on the rear of the chassis.
NOTICE
If the OPTI-6100 is wired for dual-feed power, then the SMX fan
assembly should also be dual-feed powered. These connections
can be made with up to 14 gauge wire.
If only A power is supplied, with no B power feed, the single power
feed must be connected to both the A and B terminals, to prevent
an unnecessary B power feed alarm.
5. Run connecting wires from the

wire wrap pins on the rear of the OPTI-6100 chassis.

6. Connect the environmental alarm inputs to wire-wrap pairs 1–16 (one pair per input).
7. Insert fuses into the fuse panel. Use a 0.5 A fuse for –48 VDC or a 1.0 A fuse for ±24 VDC.
8. Restore power to the fan assembly.

SMX Dual-Rackmount

The SFANM and SHFANM are not supported in configurations where two SMX chassis are
installed side-by-side in the SMX Chassis Dual-Mount Brackets (P/N 1184517L1). The FANM,
EFANM, and HFANM can be used in this configuration. Refer to
Chassis"
on page 29 for installation instructions.

SMX Wallmount Options

The SMX chassis has three wallmount options:
SMX Chassis Wallmount Bracket (P/N 1184521L1): This bracket does not support the use
of the SFANM or SHFANM.
SMX Chassis CPE Wallmount Cabinet: To mount the SFANM or SHFANM in this cabinet,
refer to the SMX CPE Wallmount Cabinet Installation and Turn-Up Practice
(P/N 64184514WMLx-5).
SMX Chassis Wallmount Kit: To mount the SFANM or SHFANM with the SMX Chassis
Wallmount Kit, refer to the OPTI-6100 CPE Wallmount Bracket Assembly for SMX Chassis
