FOLLOW-UP PROCEDURES

Once these procedures are complete, the OPTI-6100 chassis is ready for turnover.

Verify OPTI-6100 Chassis Wiring to the DSX-1

This procedure details the test steps which must be performed to verify that an OPTI-6100
chassis has been properly wired to the DSX-1 This procedure should be performed by two
people: one at the chassis under test and the other at the MDF.

Prerequisite Procedures

The following procedure must be completed prior to verifying the OPTI-6100 chassis wiring to
the DSX-1. If necessary, refer to the appropriate documentation before proceeding. The prereq-
uisite procedure is as follows:

Tools and Materials Required

PC connected to the craft port or through Telnet

Procedure

1. Power on the DS1 test set and configure for a 2
2. Connect a DS1 cable from the Tx output of the test set to the Rx input of the MDF facility
#1 to be tested.
3. Connect a DS1 cable from the Rx input of the test set to the Tx output of the MDF facility
#1 to be tested.
4. Connect a serial cable to the craft port of the OPTI-6100.
5. Open a terminal session and configure the baud rate to 19200.
6. Login to the OPTI-6100 with a valid username and password. The default username is
ADMIN. The default password is PASSWORD.
