PREPARING FOR CHASSIS INSTALLATION

This section provides details for preparation of a site to accept one or more OPTI-6100 chassis.
Chassis to be installed in the same rack or in adjacent racks should be engineered together so
that they can share common feeds for power, timing, and management interfaces as appro-
priate for the application.
Before beginning the site preparations, the Site Engineer should determine which system appli-
cations each chassis must be wired to perform. Based on application, the Site Engineer should
specify how the rack holding the chassis should fit into the NEBS lineup for Central Office (CO)
applications. These considerations include which power, transmission, and clock connections
are required for each chassis.
