OPTI-6100 Installation and Turn-Up Practice

ETHEM8EW Provisioning

Use this Provisioning procedure to provision the ETHM8EW module (P/N 1184530L1).
To provision the ETHM8EW module, complete the following steps:
1. From the OPTI-6100 Main menu, select
2. From the MS Modules menu, select the Ethernet module to provision, and press
3. From the ADTRAN Ethernet Line Card menu, select

NOTE
AINS prevents alarms from being reported on facilities that are not
yet receiving a valid signal. Refer to

9. On the AINS Time screen, enter the number of hours and minutes, and press
10. To manually provision port Speed, Duplex, and Crossover settings:
a. From the ETHM8EW Provisioning menu, select
b. From the Ethernet Port Provisioning menu, select a port, and press
c. From the selected port's Provisioning menu, select
d. From the Speed menu, select
NOTE
If a specific speed (10, 100, or 1000 Mbps) is selected, the far end
of the Ethernet link must also be configured for the matching Speed
and Duplex settings. Duplex, Speed, and Crossover negotiation are
all automatically disabled if Speed is not set to Auto Negotiate.
