34.4 distance
Command:
distance <number> [<ipv6-address>] [<access-list-name | access-list-number>]
no distance [<ipv6-address>]
Function:
Set the managing distance with this command. The "no distance [<A.B.C.D/M> ]" command
restores the default value to 120.
Parameter:
<number> specifies the distance value, ranging between 1-255.
<ipv6-address> is the local link address or its prefix.
<access-list-name|access-list-number> specifies the access-list number or name applied.
Default:
The default managing distance of RIP is 120.
Command Mode:
Router mode and address-family mode.
Usage Guide:
In case there are routes from two different routing protocols to the same destination, the managing
distance is then used for selecting routes. The less the managing distance of the route protocol is ,
the more reliable will be the route acquired from the protocol.
Example:
Switch#config terminal
Switch(config)#router rip
Switch(config-router)#distance 8 fe80:1111::4200:21ff:fe00:11 mylist
34.5 distribute-list
Command:
distribute-list {access-list-name> |prefix<prefix-list-name>} {in|out} [<ifname>|vlan
<vlan-id>]
no distribute-list {access-list-name> |prefix<prefix-list-name>} {in|out} [<ifname>|vlan
<vlan-id>]
Function:
This command uses access-list or prefix-list to filter the route renews messages sent and received.
The "no distribute-list {access-list-name> |prefix<prefix-list-name>} {in|out} [<ifname>|vlan
<vlan-id>]" command cancels this filter function.
